Pan Seared Sirloin Steak Dinner for Two

Pan Seared Sirloin Steak Dinner for Two just in time for Valentine's Day! This is the perfect meal for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner for two. It is easy to make and budget friendly too!

INGREDIENTS

Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 medium sized Yukon Gold potatoes, cubed
  • 1/2 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 to 3 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • Water to cover potatoes in pan
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, warmed slightly
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Sirloin Steaks
  • 2 sirloin steak medallions or filets 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick (about 1 lb total)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, dvided
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee (or canola oil if you prefer)
  • 2 to 3 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Sprig of fresh thyme

Steamed Green Beans
  • 1/2 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon of freshly minced garlic (or more to taste)
  • Pinch of kosher salt

Sauteed Mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces sliced white mushrooms
  • pinch of kosher salt
